Looking for DXF editing component

Post by phavlik » 03 Dec 2007, 15:04

Hi, I have had a look at the CadSoftTools components and applications and it looks like they will be able to do what we are looking for.

Our requirement is as follows:

1. We have existing DXF drawings which have been done on an external system
2. We need to develop a .NET C# application which will be able to load a DXF image and do the following:
a) Allow the user to draw lines on the image using the mouse - each line must end in a number bubble - 1, 2, 3 etc.
b) We need a programmatic reference to the lines added to the DXF - i.e. we need to save the references in a database - the idea is that we are building a drawing annotation tool - the user needs to be able to select parts from a list and indicate the location of those parts on the DXF drawing. We also need to be able to click on the parts list in a .NET grid and the relevant annotation in the DXF drawing must be highlighted.
c) is should also be possible to programmatically delete and renumber the annotations that have been added to the drawing
d) it must be possible to save the DXF drawing with the annotations and load it in again in the future with the links to the database remaining intact
e) it must be possible to print the drawing in a formatted manual format. I have seen that you have the ability to open the CadSoftTools components in MS Word. Is it also possible to open then in Reporting Services? Since you have a HTML control I assume it is?

If the above is possible please indicate the components that we will need. Also the pricing on the components.
And lastly, is it possible to outsource the development of some of this development to your company?

Regards
Petr

Dear Petr Havlik,

It will be released <b>CAD Import .NET Pro</b> very soon which will allow most of demanded functionality.

As far as we can understand the speech goes about CADViewX Component. Please visit our web site for more info: http://www.cadsofttools.com/en/products/cadviewx.html

Unfortunately we had no experience of working with <b>Reporting Services</b>.

Both CADViewX Component (http://www.cadsofttools.com/download/cadviewx.zip) and CAD Import .NET (http://www.cadsofttools.com/download/cadimportnet.zip) packages contain respective demo applications.
